ABOUT NICHOLAS LOKKER

Nicholas Lokker is an adjunct fellow for the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). His work focuses on U.S.-Europe-Russia relations, global security governance, Russian foreign policy, and European integration.

Lokker has prior work experience at the Center for European Policy Analysis, the European Parliamentary Research Service, and the American-German Institute at Johns Hopkins University. He also spent a year teaching English in Clermont-Ferrand, France. He regularly publishes analysis and commentary in outlets such as The Washington Quarterly, Foreign PolicyPolitico Europe, War on the Rocks, Lawfare, and Inkstick, among others.

Lokker is currently working toward a PhD in international relations from the School of International Service at American University. He holds a BA in political science and romance languages from Duke University and an MA in European studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. Lokker is proficient in French and Spanish, and he has also studied German and Russian.
